Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

So, I finished the book. The 7th book. The final book. I am very depressed about this. Harry Potter books are at an end. Life seems joyless, cold and dark. Kind of like a Dementor is hanging around somewhere

Will there be more stories about Hogwarts? Sure. There has to be, but they won’t be the same.

I can barely type this. It feels as though I have lost my best friend.

The Buddhist philosophy (to which I subscribe) is one of non-attachment. One would think that I would have got that by now but,
OH WELL. . . I’m attached!

Thank god my friend Dreanna brought me some Mickey Mouse ears to cheer me up. They even have my name on them! From the appearance of these ears at precisely this dark moment in time, my belief that the universe is benevolent is confirmed and I can face another day. Yes I can!

Good luck to all of you saying goodbye to Harry. My wish for you . . .
some Mickey Mouse ears.

Mother Millie

Millie, Joe’s lovely mum shared her 79th birthday with us and travelled all the way from Hamilton Ontario to do so. We went to the historic Empress Hotel for high tea (where the Queen herself is rumoured to have enjoyed a cuppa) and thrusting our pinkies forward, passed a few cultured hours in the British Empire ambience of the place.
A few days later we travelled to Salt Spring Island to see a working wool farm and Mum got a chance to pet Louis the Llama.
All in all, it was a lovely visit with a grand old gal and strangely apropos for Vancouver Island - tea and farm animals.

Love you Mumsy!!!
